RAC members are covered both as a driver and as a passenger in any vehicle all year long. There's a £5 discount for online applications and a no call out discount for future years along with free car checks for some membership plans. You can even post-date your membership to start when your existing cover ends. Avoid traffic jams using the free traffic news service, simply click your location to display up to date traffic news. Regular travellers should enjoy the free trial of the RAC Route Minder service which uses Trafficmaster data to display live traffic maps. You'll also find, courtesy of a partnership with Hoot!, the latest motoring news, top stories, features, car reviews and motoring issues. If you're planning a new trip further afield use the free European and UK Route Planner. Enter your starting point, any places you want to visit en-route and your final destination and the detailed route description and zoomable map is calculated for you - and of course you can print it out to take with you. It's important to take a break on longer journeys so why not select a suitable stopover using the free accommodation search box which checks over 3500 Hotels and B&Bs throughout the UK and Ireland.
