Cowboy Bebop Movie Review - Buy Movies - Rent MoviesAn Anime work of art by Sunrise, Bones and Emotion, based on the smash hit TV series, Cowboy Bebop flies onto the big screen. After its release in America it's finally available on DVD in the UK.
In 2071 Mars is a harsh place and the ISSP (Inter Solar Systems Police) have become completely corrupt. All they do is take bribes and set bounties - If there's a bounty on your head you're in big trouble!
Vincent (the bad guy) has unleashed a deadly virus on the population so the ISSP have set the bounty higher than ever before at 300,000,000 woolongs so enter the bounty-hunting Bebop crew to try and catch the culprits and cash in.
The crew includes Spike (cool guy with a mysterious past), Jet (ex ISSP Officer), Faye (hot chick with no past), Ed (Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky 4th) and their lovable dog Ein (a welsh corgi data dog).
The DVD also includes Conceptual art galleries, Storyboard comparisons, In-depth character profiles (includes interviews with the voice over actors and the directors - cool), theatrical trailers (Cowboy Bebop, xXx, etc), animated menus, to make the whole thing more enjoyable and 2 music videos (Ask DNA and Gotta Knock a Little Harder).
It's currently only available on DVD Region 1 format and, even worse, features RCE (Region Coding Enhancement) which means it won't work in most UK multi region players! However, all is not lost! Check out Remote Selector which bypasses this RCE protection crap and enables ANY computer DVD drive (even region locked drives) to play ANY DVD. There's a demo version, which works for 20 minutes so you can make sure it works, and the full version costs just 20 euros!
There are also workarounds which make it possible to play RCE encoded disks on some DVD players. To find yours search (use google) for your player and RCE (e.g. DV-P250 RCE). We found loads and it was third time lucky for us - So up yours RCE!
